The History of Yoga
To connect with others we must first learn to connect with ourselves. Kundalini, Hatha, Ashtanga, positions and positional vertigo are always teachers (gurus) who show you how to make contact with your inner being. This is a spiritual technology that has been employed by the human race since 1000-5000 BC. The spiritual growth technique originated in India where Induism is still practiced today.
Paramahansa Yogananda is the person that introduced western society to Yoga in the early 1900’s. It was introduced as a way for people to get acquainted with themselves. Paramahansa is known for his writings. He was a young Indian Yogi who is well known by his book “Autobiography of a Yogi”. The main areas of focus for Yogananda’s teachings are a discipline of meditation or Kriya Yoga. It is based on several areas of the human spine where energy is transferred.
